BEGINNING APRIL 29:
Two-Week Family Wellness Program by Addiction Prevention Strategies
West Lawn is sponsoring a “Family Wellness Program” on Sunday, April 29 and May 6. This program, by Addiction Prevention Strategies, is a unique educational class for families who have a loved one who is struggling with an addiction. This 2-week class is for FAMILY MEMBERS, not the alcoholic or addict. The purpose is to help the families to have a better understanding of addiction, what they can do to give the addict the best opportunity to find resources and to take care of themselves in the process. More specifically, guidance will be given to family members in understanding addiction, enabling, the importance of detachment, as well as setting boundaries. In addition, this program also shares how interventions provide a respectful, loving way to help the family to address the need for the addicted individual to enter into treatment. Participants will be introduced to further the counseling and recovery coaching programs.
The 2-week class will take place in the HeBrews Café from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m., with a light lunch included. To register, contact the Church Office at 610-678-5611.
