Magambua Sunday School Building Campaign

Our Magambua Sunday School Building Campaign has officially come to a close. In just five weeks time, West Lawn children raised $10,351.14, more than doubling their goal of $5,000!

Starting on February 12, our children’s Sunday School classes began a mission – a mission in Africa! Since our West Lawn mission team returned from Tanzania last May, it has been a goal of ours to help build a new Sunday School classroom in Magambua. We put this dream into action beginning last month.

In addition to their regular Sunday School lessons, between February 12 through March 11, children age 3 through Grade 12 learned how they could help build a new Sunday School building in the “bush,” supporting the Africa Inland Church. On February 26, the children took a special offering in the sanctuary during all three worship services to benefit this campaign. Everyone at West Lawn was asked to join us in prayer as we seek to raise $5,000 to erect a new Sunday School building for God’s children in Tanzania.

Throughout the campaign, the children learned more about this mission, its purpose, our passion and the children who will be impacted. The kids received special offering envelopes for the five weeks of the campaign. They were invited to purchase homemade gifts made by the women of Magambua. The children also tasted authentic Magambua foods! Other events included a “School Supply collection,” and prayer letters, all of which will be sent to the new building once it is built.

Thank you for your support!
